Dear God, please tell me was this your will
Nations against nations wondering whom next to kill
Oh Allah, please tell me was this your will
A million soldiers, slaughter a mere thrill
Tell me god Vishnu, was it mentioned in your scripture
Conflicts of race, a million hearts rapture
Dear Buddha was it you
You who encouraged such hatred to bloom
For in all of the texts I’ve found no reference
To such discrimination, hate has been given no such reverence.
You speak of peace, good things do you preach
So enlighten me please, this situation how we did reach
Innocent victims but names on graves
Women reduced to nothing but slaves
They say they do it for you, O sacred one
But behind hatred and power they continually run
It seems they are forgetting that the Saint Matthew says not to judge
Forgotten are your words of equality Muhummad
Buddha they’re forgetting that karma awaits
Dear Vishnu your justice has been replaced by hate
Nationalists, see how quickly you lay claim
To a land bestowed by nature, do you have no shame
Then look down upon your brothers for they speak a different language
Does your humanity disappear because they have different parentage
How quickly you forget the fact that we are all Gods creation
Whoever that God may be, it changes not the implication
So remember your religion sisters and brothers
But forget not that we are children of but one mother.
